I join Maxie's many, many friends from elementary thru high school in expressing how very saddened I was upon hearing that he had passed away. The memories I have of him are very special. I send my sincere condolences to his family.

So sad to hear of the passing of someone we spent so much time with in our early years. We have many fond memories of Maxie. Rest in Peace.

Jim and I have known Max for nearly 15 years. We gathered many many times at the Sumter Elks Lodge. She shared so many laughs and stories it makes both of us smile as we remember Max. I can remember Max often gave Jim relationship advice and was always a sounding board for me when Jim was driving me crazy! LOL. Max always called me "baby girl" and smiled so much when he was with his friends. He was very fun to golf with and was an extremely patient man. He taught me how to shag and he really enjoyed dancing. He was a many who was up early in the morning and to bed early in the evening, I think he continued those habits after serving so many years in the military.

Even though we have not lived in Sumter for many years, we certainly enjoy sharing memories about fun times we had when we were together. May he rest in peace.
